I earned a Master's Degree in Urban Planning, worked as a construction manager for several Bend, Oregon developers, and owned a construction company of my own for a decade. While I enjoy building, my favorite line of work is repairing, remodeling, and maintaining houses. My favorite quote is from Kurt Vonnegut's book Hocus Pocus: "Everybody wants to build and nobody wants to do maintenance." The name of my business comes from the fact I am a Type 1 Diabetic. Don't worry, I am well controlled and have a continuous glucose monitor. Rather than having a defeatist attitude toward the condition, I decided to make it the name of my company!
